Large Group Testing Success Factors: Recruitment
Posted on Sun, Feb 26, 2012 @ 10:43 AM
This week on the Focus Pointe Global blog, we’re taking a look at some of the most important factors that help to ensure the success of your large group marketing research projects.
The first stage of every successful project, no matter what the size, is recruitment. As the number of required respondents increases, so does the amount of time required for recruitment. With that in mind, large group testing naturally requires a significantly greater investment of effort. Therefore, it’s important to allow some extra time to plan and manage this critical first stage of your large group research project engagement.
First, clearly define the format for updating requirements up front and have your project management team reformat profile sheets, dispo reports, incidence reports and so on. This will allow you to put your time to better use solving daily project hurdles and challenges.
Once your requirements formatting and updating process is defined, turn your attention to your screener, carefully weighing and considering every question. Remember, when formulating your questions, that long and complex screeners slow recruitment down unnecessarily and might inadvertently eliminate suitable participants.
It’s also important to remember that recruiting low incidence populations for your large group qualitative research project is probably not as important as finding the most qualified and articulate participants.
By planning additional time for recruitment and screening into your large group testing project, you increase the likelihood of finding the best possible research participants according to your target criteria.
Stay tuned later in the week when we will continue our examination of large group testing success factors with a look at prepping your facility on the day of your project.
