Panelists Weigh in on Valentine’s Day 2020
This Valentine’s Day love is in the air…but it’s going to cost you. Although less people are celebrating compared to the years before, it still remains a popular holiday among consumers. According to the NRF, those celebrating the holiday plan to spend $196.31, up 21% percent from last year’s record of $161.96. Total spending is expected to reach $27.4 billion, up 32% from last year’s record $20.7 billion. For many people, the day is a way to show some extra love to their significant other as well as other important relationships. In fact, a big reason for the increase in Valentine’s spending over the past few years is because of people’s desire to celebrate other important people in their lives such as friends, co-workers, and even pets!
